This week I learned about how to find out what the demand and competition are for various key terms. This could be very helpful in deciding what business a person should choose and what he would market. One example given was to begin with a chess business. It would have a low startup cost, low competition level, and would appeal to a large audience. There are many options that could be used with a chess business. It could be used to market chess sets which could be obtained from wholesale manufacturers or from marketplace companies. Money could be made from advertising on the website. Another direction would be to not sell chess sets, but rather, sell items that have to do with chess, i.e., create or find strategies on how to be a successful chess player, set up chess tournaments, offer online classes, create videos about how to play the game, or set up a site for chess players to play and socialize with each other. These thoughts could apply to other business ideas.
